well... we bought many books in mexico: beautiful, cfe books, on sale, and brought them home in our rucksacks. and in the city we bought two bright spongy carpets and more than a dozen cushions. and rosita steele has made lovely covers for them! and the great news is the first floor of the library has been painted and is ready for us to move in (giving us four times the space we had before). the only problem being water. we have none. for the children to wash their hands before they read books, flush the toilet and to clean up the library. we scheduled a meeting with the mayor to discuss this... but as yet haven't managed to see him. it may to be complicated to resolve (none of the centre of town has water, including us, but we manage with a pump). he may not have funds to sort it out.... we'll have to see what
happens... in the meantime we're reticent to start, because we wouldn't be able to look after the new books we have properly....
keep you all posted.
